The Convention Center benefits our wonderful community in a variety of ways.
The main mission of the Spokane Convention Center is to generate economic benefits for the region by hosting out-of-town visitors that attend conventions, tradeshows and sporting events. Visitors spend money for lodging, transportation, at restaurants, on entertainment and for retail shopping thus generating sales and lodging taxes. In the last five years the convention Center has contributed $266 million in direct spending to the regional economy making it one of Spokane most important economic engines.
The completion of the 2015 expansion project will increase the number of visitors and have a positive economic impact over the next few years.
The Convention Center is more than a venue for large conventions and events. As the region’s premier gathering place, it is where local meetings, banquets, educational, cultural, religious, commercial and social functions are held for all the members of our community. Most residents have attended some type of function at the Convention Center such as a wedding, business meeting, non-profit fundraiser, consumer show, graduation or educational seminar.

In addition, many SPFD employees are members of numerous service clubs and serve on the Boards of local non-profit organizations.
