SECURITY PROCEDURES

Management and staff at the Spokane Convention Center constantly review and revisie security procedures in an effort to create an exceptional and memorable event environment where our guests and performers feel safe, secure and welcome.

We would like to remind all guests that new security measures have been implemented for select events at the Spokane Convention Center. All guests, employees, contractors and artists will be required to walk through magnetometers, more commonly referred to as ‘walk-through metal detectors’, upon entering the venue. Additionally, all handbags and purses will be checked prior to entry.

To help facilitate a smooth transition, here are a few considerations that will expedite the entry process and help everyone have a positive experience:

  • Bring only essential items needed for the event you are attending
  • Leave ALL weapons at home. Weapons may include firearms, pocketknives, pepper spray, and wallet chains
  • If you must bring a camera other than your mobile device, please ensure that it fits within your front pants pocket. No detachable lens cameras will be permitted. NOTE: Patrons must adhere to all event/shows individual rules pertaining to photography/video.

Staffing levels have been increased to help with a smooth transition of the new procedures. The Convention Center respectively recommends arriving early to all events. If you cannot make it to the venue at least 30 minutes prior to event or show time, you may experience a delay.

The safety, comfort and security of our guests, employees and artists is something we place a high priority on at the Spokane Public Facilities District. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we implement these  procedures in order to provide better security at our venue.

On-duty officers with the Spokane Police Department and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office may enter the venue at any time. Off-duty law enforcement with either agency may be vetted through their respective supervisors to receive access privileges for service weapons.

Thank you sincerely for your cooperation and patronage. We look forward to seeing you at the Spokane Convention Center
